Jim Collins teaches about the importance of having the right people on the bus (your company) and the wrong people off the bus in his best selling book, Good to Great. At EOS, we collaborate with owners/CEOs and their leadership teams to help them accomplish that goal.
As an entrepreneurial business owner you shouldn’t forget that the war for talent is only in abeyance right now. It will come back with a vengeance over the next several years.
Just because there are lots of people out of work right now you shouldn’t become complacent or cocky. Finding great people is still job #1 for any business owner. Quantity is not necessarily quality.

On November 22, 2009 Eli Amdur published an article entitled, “Fifty for Fifty” – 50 reasons to hire the 50 (plus) candidate,” Special to North Jersey Media Group. Eli is a career coach so he probably knows something about this subject. You can read more about him on his website.
You can read the whole article here.
To whet your appetite here are some excerpted items from the article:
-I’m a boomer. We have that famous work ethic.
-Boomers are the best team players in the workforce; we work well with others. That’s not opinion; it’s fact.
-At my age, I have an extensive network. I bring that with me.
This article got so much attention that an article with quotes from people responding to it was published. Read it here.
Are you considering the 50+, or (gasp) 60+ job candidates to fill critical openings in your company? You should be.
